Thank you for your purchase! With this purchase, you are supporting our small family run business in these unprecedented times. We thank you for allowing us to share our passion with you and we hope you have fun pouring your candles!
You can find our step by step instructional video at www.washandwik.com, Events tab, “Make Your Own Candle Kit”
Step 1: Protect your work surface. You can break down the box this kit came in and use the cardboard as a flat, protective surface.
Step 2: Prepare your candle tins. Give the inside of your tins a quick wipe down to remove any foreign particles or dust. Flip over your candle tin and add the warning label to the bottom of each tin.
Step 3: Peel off the wick stickers from the sticker sheet and place a wick sticker on the bottom of each wick tab. Peel off the second part of the wick sticker and place wick in the center circle inside the tin. Press down firmly for good adhesion.
Step 4: Place the wick bar on the tin, lightly pull the wick and slide the wick into the notch of the wick bar, centering the wick. Wick bars hold the wick tight while pouring a candle and allow for easy centering of the wick.
Step 5: Open your bag of wax flakes and pour your wax flakes into your pour pitcher.
Step 6: Fill an old pot with water and bring to a rolling boil. Place the pouring pitcher into the pot, hanging the pitcher by its handle. Water should come halfway up the outside of the pitcher. Wait for the soy wax to completely melt and reach 185°F (85°C). This should take about 10 minutes. This is important for the fragrance and essentials oils to blend completely with your soy wax. Do not let water get in the wax.
Step 7: Once your wax hits 185°F (85°C), carefully remove your pouring pitcher from the pot and bring the pitcher to your work area (away from the stove). Add the pre-measured fragrance and essential oils directly into your pouring pitcher. Stir for 30 seconds.
Step 8: Let the wax cool down to 165°F (74°C). Stir again. Pour your wax into the tins until you reach the pour line on the tin. Once all four candles are poured, carefully wipe down the inside of the pouring pitcher with a paper towel. It is easiest to do this while it is still hot. DO NOT POUR EXTRA WAX DOWN DRAIN.
Step 9: Once candles are completely cooled, remove the wick bars. Cut each wick so they are about a quarter of an inch long. Cover your candles with lid. Let rest and light the next day!

WARNING:
Wax may reach temperatures exceeding 200°F (93°C). Please use extra caution when pouring hot wax and when adding fragrance and essential oils. Never add fragrance and essential oils near an open flame. The flashpoint is the point at which your oils combust near an open flame. It is Wash & Wik’s recommendation that you always wear protective and appropriate safety equipment when making candles. Please adhere to warning label on the bottom of candle for proper burning instructions. Double boiling may result in water stains on stove top and corrosion of pot. Wash & Wik is not responsible for any damages to customer’s personal equipment.
